- • Format: In-person multiple-choice test in English (starting from late 2027)
- • Who takes it: Most people applying for New Zealand citizenship by grant. People under 16 or aged 65 and over are exempt, along with some other groups
- • You need at least 15 of 20 correct (75%)
- • Up to 3 attempts, then a wait of at least 30 working days before up to 3 more
The Department of Internal Affairs will publish official study materials before the test starts. Until then, our questions are written from the laws and official sources behind each announced topic.
